Key Differences Between Christianity And Islam
In my previous video, we discussed about the similarities between Christianity and Islam. We pointed out what these two largest religions on earth share in common. In today's video, we will be talking about the differences between these two religions. Here are 6 differences between Christianity and Islam.
The first difference is in their views about the scriptures. The Bible contains 66 books and Christians believe that the bible was written by about 40 different authors who were inspired by God within a period of approximately 1600 years. But Muslims believe that the Quaran was formed when prophet Muhammad received revelations from angel Gabriel over a period of 23 years.
The second difference is in their views about God. Christians believe in the Trinity, that's is, one God in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit but Muslims consider the concept of trinity to be a denial of believe in one God. They believe there is one only God without any subdivision.
The third difference is there view about Jesus. Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God but Muslims oppose that. They believe that Jesus was just a perfect, sinless prophet and messenger of God. His name is Arabic is Isa. They also believe that Jesus was miraculously conceived by God through Mary but He is not the Son God.
The fourth difference is in their view about sin. Christians believe every human is born with original sin inherited from the first man, Adam through the fact of birth. This sin is called Adamic nature but Muslims believe that when you are born, you have a ‘clean slate.’ They believe that satan is responsible for sin, and there is no curse over Adam or creation.
The fifth difference is in the use of status. In Christianity, the use of status varies by denominations. Statutes are used in most orthodox and Catholic denominations to represent Jesus. There are images of God and Jesus but in Islam, images of God or prophets are not permitted. They believe that no image is a representative of God and that drawing lifelike human works, would mean idolatry.
The sixth difference is in there days of worship. While Christians worship on Sundays, Muslims worship on Thursdays.
While there are still more minor differences between Christianity and Islam, the six I mentioned are the key differences. Thanks so much and God bless.
