Pastor Paul Enenche: His Life, Ministry, and Impact

Pastor Paul Enenche is the founder and Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, a church headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. He is also a trained medical doctor, an author, and a musician.

Early Life and Education

He was born on June 4, 1968, in Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria. He is a native of the Idoma tribe and was raised by his mother in a godly way. Although he grew up as a Methodist, his faith deepened when he enrolled at the University of Jos, where he actively participated in the Deeper Life Campus Fellowship.

His salvation experience was unique, as he recalled that he repented after experiencing a series of inward convictions and questions about his eternity gripped him. He started following the Lord while on campus through the Deeper Life Bible Church.

As a medical student, he dedicated himself to evangelizing patients, praying for them, and preaching to them while fulfilling his duties as a doctor.

Marriage and Family

During his time on campus, he met his wife, Dr. Becky Enenche, who initially saw him as a spiritual mentor. However, their bond grew stronger, and they eventually fell in love. They got married on April 16, 1994. Dr. Becky Enenche is also a medical doctor and the daughter of medical professors. The couple is blessed with four children.

The Call to Ministry

In May 1996, in Jos, Plateau State, Pastor Paul Enenche found himself at a crossroads regarding his future. He had several attractive career options, including:

• Relocating with his wife to the University of London and Hammersmith Hospital, where they had job offers that would allow them to advance in the medical profession.
• Remaining in Nigeria, where both he and his wife had well-paying jobs in different hospitals and were comfortably accommodated.

Despite these promising opportunities, he felt an unusual restlessness in his spirit. On May 28, 1996, he embarked on a journey to a mountainous area on the outskirts of Jos to seek God's direction through prayer and fasting.

After three days of fasting, he received a clear vision from the Lord. God instructed him to:

"Put aside your medical certificate and go to the city of Abuja to start a gospel outreach that will be characterized by a heavy presence of God to heal, save, and deliver people—a church that will restore human destiny and dignity."

Following this divine mandate, he and his wife moved to Abuja and, in 1996, established Dunamis International Gospel Centre, just two years after their marriage.

The Growth of Dunamis International Gospel Centre

The church initially held services in a rented hall before acquiring land for a permanent site. Today, the headquarters of the church is located along Airport Road, Abuja.

In 2018, the church dedicated The Glory Dome, an architectural marvel capable of seating 100,000 worshippers. The dedication ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including Nigeria’s then Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
