The Rapture: Are You Ready?
The term "rapture" is well known among Christian believers, and even some non-believers are familiar with it. It is an age-old doctrine in Christianity, referring to the moment when Christ will return to the earth, resurrect believers who have died, and unite them with living Christians to meet the Lord in the air.
However, not all believers will partake in this remarkable event—only those who have prepared themselves. They will be raptured from this earth to the place that Jesus has prepared for them to be united with Him at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
John 14:2-3 says:
"I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
Cemeteries may be neglected, records of the dead destroyed, and many who have passed away forgotten by men. Some may have been burned, blown to bits, or buried at sea, but nothing will prevent the dead in Christ from rising at the sound of the Trumpet of God.
No matter what has happened to the body of a saint, each child of God will rise in a glorified, resurrected body when the Lord descends from heaven with a shout.
Are You Ready?
Unfortunately, millions of churchgoers are not ready for the rapture. They attend church every Sunday yet engage in all manner of sin, both secretly and openly. They profess Christ with their lips, but their actions tell a different story.
"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." — 2 Timothy 3:5
Signs of the Rapture Are Everywhere
The rapture is imminent—it is at the door, and the signs are all around us. There is a moral downfall across the world, the Word of God is being twisted to accommodate sin, and the doctrine of Christ’s return is no longer being taught in many churches.
When the teaching of Christ’s return is ignored, the church loses its fire.
Genesis 6:13 tells us that in Noah’s time, the earth was filled with violence.
Jude 1:7 states that in Lot’s day, Sodom and Gomorrah had given themselves over to fornication and unnatural desires.
Violence prevailed in Noah’s time, and sexual immorality dominated Lot’s generation. This is exactly what is happening today—violence and fornication rage across the world.
Turn on the television, and you will see violence, immorality, and evil everywhere. The cities of the world are no longer safe, and criminals openly harm innocent people in broad daylight.
Our Ultimate Goal: To Be Rapture-Ready
In a world filled with pain, suffering, sickness, and unpredictable disasters, our ultimate goal should not be to acquire the riches of this world but to be ready for the rapture and unite with Jesus.
We must remain watchful and sober as we wait patiently for His coming.
Matthew 24:42 says:
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."
We must be faithful and careful Christians, always watching and ensuring our lives are aligned with His commandments. The careless and unrighteous will be left behind when the trumpet sounds.
We watch by examining ourselves daily, making sure we are living in obedience to His ordinances.
