Four Powerful Healing Revivalists and Their Astonishing Miracles

Throughout history, God has raised up extraordinary men and women who walked in great faith and demonstrated His miraculous power. These individuals carried a divine mandate to heal the sick, preach the gospel, and ignite revival in their generation. Their ministries not only transformed lives but also laid the foundation for the supernatural move of God that continues today.

In this article, we highlight four of these great generals of faith—men and women who, through radical obedience and unwavering belief in God's power, brought healing, deliverance, and revival to countless people across the world. Their stories serve as an inspiration for believers today, proving that God can use anyone willing to surrender to His call.

1. Smith Wigglesworth

Smith Wigglesworth was one of the most anointed men of God in recent history. He was known as the "Apostle of Faith." Born in 1859 in England, he passed away in 1947 at the age of 87. Throughout his ministry, he healed thousands of people and raised a total of 23 individuals from the dead.

2. John G. Lake

John G. Lake was known as God's "Apostle to Africa." He was born in 1870, and shortly after his birth, his family relocated to the United States, where he grew up. His healing and preaching ministry spanned from 1898 until his death in 1935 at the age of 65.

In 1908, he was sent by God to South Africa, where he sparked a tremendous revival marked by mighty healings, miracles, and deliverances. His ministry had a profound impact on the African continent for years to come. In 1913, following the tragic death of his wife, he returned to America. Over the course of his ministry, more than 100,000 people were healed by the power of God.

3. Maria Woodworth-Etter

Maria Woodworth-Etter was born in 1844 in Lisbon, Ohio, United States. She was called by God to preach at a time when society did not believe women should preach. In fact, during this period, women were not even allowed to vote in the United States. She endured the heartbreaking loss of several of her children before she surrendered to God’s call and began preaching the gospel.

Maria carried one of the most powerful ministries, operating in an extraordinary anointing with remarkable healings, miracles, and wonders. She would arrive in a town, often staying in a tent, and within days, approximately 20,000 people would gather at her meetings.

At times, God would give people working in the fields near her meetings visions of heaven and hell, and they would fall to the ground under a tremendous anointing. People surrounding the meeting arena would also fall under the power of God and repent. She passed away in September 1924 at the age of 80.

4. John Alexander Dowie

John Alexander Dowie was born in 1847 but spent much of his early life in Australia. He was a bold warrior for God, fiercely battling sin and compromise, even as a young minister in Australia. In later years, he became one of the most renowned pioneers of divine healing worldwide. By the turn of the century, he was known to millions across the globe.

In his early years of ministry in Chicago, the power of God was constantly demonstrated, with hundreds being healed of various afflictions. However, the enemy launched several attacks against him. He was arrested over 100 times on fabricated charges and relentlessly targeted by the most prominent media figures in the city. He even endured street riots and attempts on his life. Despite these challenges, he persevered, maintaining his credibility and becoming God’s most effective champion of divine healing in America at that time.

He passed away on March 9, 1907, at the age of 60.

These generals of faith carried a burning passion for God's kingdom, fearlessly confronting sickness, demonic oppression, and religious resistance. Their legacies live on, challenging believers today to pursue a life of faith, holiness, and power. May their stories inspire us to trust in God’s supernatural power and walk in the fullness of His calling.
