Benny Hinn: A Life of Ministry and Miracles
Benny Hinn is an evangelist best known for his miracle crusades, which are usually held in stadiums across major cities worldwide. He was born on December 3, 1952, in the port city of Jaffa, Israel, and was raised in the Eastern Orthodox tradition.
In 1968, he moved with his family to Canada. In February 1972, he surrendered his heart and life to Jesus Christ. Soon afterward, he was called by God into ministry. As a teenager in Toronto, Benny Hinn converted from Greek Orthodoxy to Pentecostalism.
Influence of Kathryn Kuhlman and Call to Ministry
His healing ministry was greatly influenced by Kathryn Kuhlman. On December 21, 1973, he traveled by charter bus from Toronto to Pittsburgh to attend a miracle service conducted by evangelist Kathryn Kuhlman.
In April 1974, he received a vision of people falling into a roaring inferno and heard the words:
"If you do not preach, every soul who falls will be your responsibility."
On December 7, 1974, four days after his 22nd birthday, Benny Hinn first stood behind a pulpit to preach the gospel, and his stuttering problem was healed. From that moment, he fearlessly sought to fulfill the Lord’s commission.

Benny Hinn conducts regular Miracle Crusades each year. In one of his crusades held in India, a total of 7.3 million people attended over three different services, making it one of the largest healing services in recorded history. Thousands of sick people were reportedly healed during this crusade.
