John Hagee: A Legacy of Faith, Leadership, and Global Influence
John Hagee is a dynamic preacher and minister who has dedicated his life to preaching the gospel and championing the values of faith, family, and righteousness. He has served as a minister of the gospel for over 65 years.
Hagee was born in Baytown, Texas, on April 12, 1940. He was raised in a Christian home where his father, William Hagee, also served as a pastor. This strong spiritual foundation played a significant role in shaping his faith.
From a young age, he felt the call of God and pursued theological and academic studies. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity University and later obtained a Master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of North Texas. His time at both universities prepared him for the work of the ministry.
In 1966, Hagee entered full-time ministry and founded Trinity Church in San Antonio, Texas. Over the years, the church grew to a large congregation. However, after facing challenges and personal hardships, he felt led by God to establish a new church.
In 1975, he founded Cornerstone Church, which has since grown into a megachurch with over 22,000 members.
Hagee's influence extends beyond the pulpit. He launched John Hagee Ministries, which broadcasts his sermons worldwide. His teachings focus on biblical prophecy, the end times, speaking in tongues, and divine healing.
In 2006, he founded Christians United for Israel (CUFI) to mobilize American evangelicals in support of Israel. Since its inception, CUFI has grown into the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States, with over 10 million members. Under his leadership, the organization has raised millions of dollars for humanitarian projects in Israel and provided aid to Holocaust survivors.
In celebration of Israel’s 70th anniversary, Pastor Hagee was recognized by the Embassy of Israel as one of the 70 greatest American contributors to Israel since its statehood.
He was also honored by U.S. Ambassador David Friedman, who invited him to give the benediction at the dedication of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem in May 2018.
John Hagee has authored 45 books, primarily focusing on biblical prophecy, Christian living, and support for Israel. Some of his most notable works include:
- Four Blood Moons: Something is About to Change (2013)
- In Defense of Israel (2007)
- God’s Two-Minute Warning (2000)
- God’s Candidate for America (1998)
Several of his books have appeared on The New York Times Best Sellers list.
John Hagee is married to Diana Castro Hagee. They got married on April 12, 1976, and are blessed with five children and thirteen grandchildren.
